Two basic rules of life:
1. Change is Inevitable
2. Everyone Resists Change.
Remember this: When you are through changing… you’re through.
Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.
Men of genius are admired, men of wealth are envied, men of power are feared; but only men of character are trusted.
Fear is a habit; so is self-pity, defeat, anxiety, despair, hopelessness and resignation.
You can eliminate all of these negative habits with two simple resolves: I can!! and I will!!
Don’t mind criticism.
If it is untrue, disregard it;
if unfair, keep from irritation;
if it is ignorant, smile;
if it is justified it is not criticism, learn from it.
Every day’s a perfect gift of time for us to use.
Hours waiting to be filled in any way we choose.
Each morning brings a quiet hope that rises with the sun.
Each evening brings the sweet content that comes with work well done.
There are always two choices. Two paths to take. One is easy. And its only reward is that it’s easy.
There are at least four things you can do with your hands.
You can wring them in despair;
you can fold them in idleness;
you can clench them in anger; or
you can use them to help someone.
should all be masters at lifting them up and making them feel better.
If you are right, take the humble side — you will help the other fellow.
If you are wrong, take the humble side — and you will help yourself.
Money will buy a bed but not sleep; books but not brains; food but not appetite; finery but not beauty; a house but not a home; medicine but not health; luxuries but not culture; amusements but not happiness; religion but not salvation; a passport to everywhere but heaven.
